FOUR sleeps...

Hey fans. Terri had this idea to try and get more of you to make comments on our blog (not that anyone's actually reading it anyway). Here goes: "Venice is gonna rock. What rocks in your world?" There. An aMAzing opening...just waiting for you...beckoning...drawing you in...resistance is futile...

People all over the world, join hands. Ride the blog train.

Well, let me be the first! I must admit my jealousy of your european adventure. And the anniversary part. I just recently met the girl of my dreams, and she lives in another province! THat rocks my world. We'll see if anything will even happen.

My wife, Gayle and our daughter Carine spent 4 days in Venice on a recent working trip to Dublin, Geneva, Ireland, Switzerland and Padua, Itlay.

They loved Padua (about an hour outside of Venice) and Venice the best (although Padua is far cheaper to stay at). Go see the Basilica of St Anthony in Padua. They say it is fabulous. And "the Messenger of Saint Anthony" (a Franciscan order) are one of Gayle's clients.

Also, Gayle says it is best to buy a water bus day pass - allows you to take water buses (like buses only they are on the water) anywhere around Venice.

So there you go! Your first suggestion of what to do in Italy!

hmmm. today my thoughts and memories lean towards Amorite Falls, an unmapped, and very unknown, hiking place in Nanaimo.

its one of those places hidden in the outskirts of a small city, one of the secret treasures.

It starts off walking up a gigantic hill. then walking down an even bigger hill, with a waterfall at the bottom.

Generally, i love finding those secret unmapped treasures in the fringes of cities, places that aren't found on a map, and are not talked about often, for good reason.

yeah. and girls.

What rocks my world...Well, my mother -in-law is moving to my town. You be the judge of that. Other things... Choral singing in cathedrals, fine wine and very smelly cheese, singing "Mache dich" from the St. Matthew Passion, keeping current with far away friends on SKYPE, tickling my kids...OK, I'll stop. You four have a great time. Love you and miss you.
